Urge Sen. Elizabeth Warren to introduce HR 676 in the Senate
“Ten years ago, single-payer health care was a fringe position. It is now mainstream.”
This is how the Boston Globe ended a story about Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren’s recent call for Democrats to campaign on single payer health care.
Supporters of single payer, Improved Medicare for All, welcome Senator Warren’s bold call. Never has support for single payer been so high. As of July 4th, 113 Democratic members of the House of Representatives are co-sponsors of HR 676, the Expanded & Improved Medicare for All Act, which is Congressman John Conyers national single payer bill.
If there were a companion to HR 676, the model single payer bill, in the Senate, the movement would be greatly strengthened.
Now is the time to push to have HR 676 introduced in the U.S. Senate.
Call Senator Warren at (202) 224-4543. You can email here with this message:
“Sen. Warren:
As we approach the 52nd anniversary of the enactment of Medicare there is no better time to introduce HR 676, Expanded & Improved Medicare For All, single payer legislation into the U.S. Senate. This is the way to begin to implement your courageous call for Democrats to campaign on single payer healthcare.
Nothing will electrify the country more than the prospect of a Conyers-Warren Improved Medicare For All legislative initiative.”
