Thursday, May 22, 2014, is National Single Payer Lobby Day in Washington DC and Call-In Day across the nation.
The Lobby Day will begin with a Capitol Hill briefing for congress, their staff, the press and the public at 10 AM on Thursday, May 22, in Room 2226 Rayburn House Office Building with Congressman John Conyers (D-MI), Andy Coates, MD, and other congresspersons and advocates. Conyers is chief sponsor of HR 676, national single payer legislation, Expanded and Improved Medicare for All, and Coates is President of Physicians for a National Health Program.
If you cannot travel to Washington, please call your representatives on May 22 and ask them to co-sponsor H.R. 676 (if they’re already a co-sponsor, thank them and encourage them to enlist their colleagues to sign on) and your senators to co-sponsor S.1782.
