The Western Pennsylvania Coalition for Single Payer Healthcare and Congressman John Conyers held a press conference for HR 676 in Pittsburgh at the Democratic Party Platform Committee hearings.

Fred Redmond, one of the five top officers in the Steelworkers’ union, spoke on behalf of USW President Leo Gerard.

Redmond had just returned from a meeting of the AFL-CIO Executive Council where he also serves as a Vice President. Redmond was introduced at the press conference by State Senator Jim Ferlo (D-Pittsburgh).
