Alaska and Ohio Building and Construction Trades Councils Endorse HR 676
Juneau, Alaska. The Juneau & Vicinity Building & Construction Trades Council endorsed HR 676, single payer healthcare legislation introduced by Congressman John Conyers (D-MI).
Mike Notar, President of the Council with 11 affiliated locals, said: “We have a failed, for-profit health care system that is … failing for all but the most wealthy and must be fixed as soon as possible by our elected officials. Recognizing the situation the American health care system is in and its skyrocketing and unaffordable costs, the Council wholeheartedly supports this legislation.”
In Toledo, Ohio, Michael Hauprict, Executive Secretary and Business Manager of the Northwestern Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, reports that his Council is “proud to endorse” HR 676, single payer healthcare legislation introduced by Congressman John Conyers.
The Northwest Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council represents more than 11,000 members in 17 local unions in its eight Ohio counties.
Seven local building & construction trades councils have endorsed the Conyers legislation. State building and construction councils in Texas, Maine, and Washington have also endorsed HR 676.
