Three Illinois Steelworker Locals and Sub District Endorse HR 676
Steelworkers throughout Illinois continue to endorse HR 676, legislation introduced by Congressman John Conyers (D-MI) that would establish a single payer health care system in the U.S.
In Southern Illinois, USW amalgamated Local 1899 with 1,500 members in the Granite City area endorsed HR 676 and forwarded their resolution to the Madison County Federation of Labor.
In Bridgeview in the northern part of the state, USW amalgamated Local 9777 with over 3,400 members in the Chicago area endorsed HR 676 and forwarded its resolution to the Chicago Federation of Labor.
In Aurora, Illinois, USW Local 1636 endorsed the Conyers legislation, and in Chicago, Sub District 1 of United Steelworkers District 7 has also endorsed the Conyers legislation.
