International Association of Machinists (IAM) Local Lodge 1502 in Superior and 621 in Ashland have endorsed HR 676, single payer health care legislation introduced by Congressman John Conyers (D-MI).

President Joe DeRosia of Local Lodge 1502, which also has members in Cloquet, Minnesota, said the local acted, “because the cost of healthcare is always the toughest thing to negotiate.”

The IAM International Union has long been on record in favor of a single payer healthcare system. A growing number of IAM local lodges, plus four district lodges and two Machinists’ State Councils have specifically endorsed HR 676.
